  • The title must contain the main keywords of your page.
  • You can use the hyphen (-) or pipe (|) sign as the title separator.
  • Need to create meaningful and interesting titles.

Not using the Correct Page URL

The URL is considered a ranking factor by Google. You also need to optimize the URL of the page properly, otherwise, you will be harmed by both the user and the search engine. This also a major SEO Mistakes.

Ways to using the Correct Page URL

  • The URL is best done with the main keyword of the page.
  • URL must always be short.
  • It is best not to use numbers in URLs.
  • Meaningful URLs need to be created.
  • Use the hyphen as the URL separator.

Not giving importance to the meta description

A survey found that a huge number of blogs published online do not have a meta description. Not giving meta descriptions is a negative signal for on-page SEO.

Click-Through Rate (CTR) is likely to decrease if the meta description is not given. The reason behind this is that after reading the meta description of what your post is about, the reader gets a detailed idea about it. Therefore, the meta descriptions should be given properly before publishing the post.

  • Meaningful Meta Description has to be created.
  • The main keyword must be in the Meta Description.
  • Meta Description should be written in 150-160 characters.

Do not give ALT text in the image

We all want to get visitors from Google search results, but a good amount of visitors come to the website from image search beyond the original search results also. A huge traffic of the USA, search through Google image search.

Before publishing a blog post, you must make sure that the ALT text in the image is given correctly (by optimizing the keyword).

  • No sign should be used in the ALT text.
  • The ALT text should always focus on keywords.
  • Use space as a word separator in the ALT text.

Heading Tag not used properly

Heading tags are usually used to indicate an article is important to search engines and visitors. The H1 tag is given the highest priority in terms of importance and then gradually decreases in importance.

The correct rules for writing a heading tag

  • The H1 Heading Tag must be used in the title of the page.
  • It is better to put the important headings in the H2 / H3 tag in the content of your page.
  • It is best to use the H1 tag only once on a page.
  • In this case, the H2 / H3 tag can be used more than once.

Internal link / external link

If you look at every blog post, you can see that besides internal links, a sufficient amount of external linking is also created. When you write a blog, you need to have two types of internal and external links.

The correct rules for linking

  • When linking, make sure that the content of the destination page is identical to the anchor text.
  • In case of an internal link, it is better to keep the link attribute, do-follow and in case of an external link, it is better to keep link attribute, no-follow.

Not having a mobile-friendly design assumes as SEO Mistakes

Website optimization for mobile is now considered as one of the most important ranking factors. The reason is that there was a time when Google Desktop and mobile versions used to index webpages twice times but, Google has announced that from now on they will only index webpages for mobiles called Mobile-First Indexing and from there for desktop views.

If your website is not mobile optimized then this is a big negative sign for ranking your website. According to Google, more than 56% of searches come from mobile, so your website must be Mobile Friendly.

We all know that the better the loading speed of a website, the better it is for that website. If the site does not open within 3 seconds after clicking on a website, 8 out of 10 visitors press the back button. In other words, 8 out of 10 people do not visit that website. As a result, the bounce rate of the entire website increases a lot. And if the bounce rate increases too much, there is a possibility of eating the penalty of the website or losing the rank.

According to Google, 53% of users leave your website on mobile, if the page takes more than 3 seconds to load. So your website’s loading speed must be fast.

Low-quality content assumes as SEO Mistakes

Content always plays an important role in any website. Google is currently penalizing websites for thin content. Thin content refers to content with less / less information. Content of 1000 words on a webpage is considered as standard.

Google always wants your content to be informative and read so that people can learn something. Now if all the pages of your website are 150-300 words then it means that the reader will not be able to learn much from now on. So lately, Google’s penalty for thin content is very high.

According to Brian Dean, owner of Backlinko, the average number of words on a page that ranks on the first page of Google is 1890-2000.

After on-page, you will need the right Off-Page SEO technique, which will help your site get good quality backlinks, and your site’s ranking on search results pages will be better.
